Core Programs
- The Vocal Scholarship Program continues to help countless area high school students make music a part of their college studies. Recognizing notable academic achievement, a passion for music, and an intention to pursue this passion in college and beyond, past recipients include our current director, as well as a who's who of other musical professionals. In 2022, we transformed our Vocal Scholarship Program into a Vocal Scholarship Competition. Overall in the past 60+ years, we have awarded tens of thousands of dollars in Vocal Scholarships – including $20,000 in just the last five years.
- The St. Paddy's Day Concerts & Irish Pub Crawl is a vibrant celebration of Irish culture and music that doubles as a fundraiser for our Vocal Scholarship Program. Each year, this series of full-length performances and mini-showcases unfolds at carefully selected bars and restaurants throughout Rock County. It is fast becoming a beloved tradition in the community, eagerly anticipated by both locals and visitors alike.
- The Patriotic Concert aims to: (i) bring our community together; (ii) with music as the medium, reignite our shared patriotism; and (iii) raise money for our local heroes. Since 2019, the Concert has raised over $25,000 for Rock County Veterans Services, just north of $2,000 for The Academy’s at-risk youth programs, and several hundred dollars for VetsRoll.
- Christmas with the Chordhawks rings in the annual holiday season as the area’s first festive event in December. And it remains our gift to the community – all performances are free and open to the public. We do accept freewill donations at this event, all of which go to fund Vocal Scholarships.
